What we build

Four jobs. One site that books.

Every Laurel & Lamp build does these four things — the difference between a brochure and a booking.

01

Found

The right hosts can't book you if they can't find you — and even the ones who spot you on a directory will google your name before they inquire. We make sure what they find is worthy of the property: on Google, in AI answers, and in that decisive first search.

  • Technical SEO built in: real page titles, descriptions, clean indexing
  • Structured data so search engines understand you're a retreat venue
  • AI-citation readiness so assistants can recommend you
  • Content that ranks for "retreat venue in [your region]"

02

Trusted

A host books the venue they can already picture their retreat in. We show your space like the property it is — and prove it works.

  • The space shown properly: rooms, grounds, the gathering spaces
  • Need the imagery itself? We coordinate real-estate-trained photographers and videographers — photos, Matterport 3D tours, floor plans, video, drone
  • Capacity and floor plans up front — a host's first question, answered
  • A proof-of-past-retreats gallery with real testimonials
  • Clear "what's included," in language a host trusts

Booked

This is where a brochure stops and a booking engine begins. Your site shows real availability and takes the deposit — no phone tag, no contact form into the void. Your listing keeps doing what it does; the close happens on ground you own.

  • Live availability calendar — open weeks a host can see, mirrored nightly from your own calendar (Google, Airbnb, VRBO, or any reservation system) — no extra software, no added fees
  • Inquiry → hold → deposit flow that actually closes
  • We integrate a proven booking tool (OwnerRez, Hostfully, SquadTrip)
  • No reservation system yet? We set one up from scratch — tool choice, rates, policies, calendar — as part of the build
  • Fast, clear response paths so an interested host never cools off

04

Owned

The whole thing is yours. One-time build — no subscription holding your own website hostage.

  • You own the site and the code outright
  • Your hosting, domain, list, and bookings — all in your accounts
  • The Handover Kit: plain-English docs + a walkthrough
  • No lock-in, ever — leave, stay, or add care on your terms

And the fifth job

Beautiful — in your property's own register.

The four jobs above are the machinery. The design is the welcome. We don't pour venues into a template — each site gets its own typography, palette, and shape language, read from the property itself: a farmhouse doesn't dress like a glass coast house, and neither dresses like a timber lodge. The three worlds in The Work are the proof — three properties, three designs, one standard.

Every build

The booking layer is standard — not an upsell.

Some studios ship a beautiful shell and sell you the marketing later — analytics, capture, SEO, booking all cost extra. We don't. The discovery, trust, capture, and booking layer is baked into every Laurel & Lamp site, because without it a site can't do its one job.
